Countdown to the National Education Show 2018:
About this Seminar:
Love languages, Love learning
This seminar will look at how to get pupils on board in their language learning and how to build their confidence and resilience in the languages classroom. At a time when language teaching and learning is in decline, we need to be better than ever before in making language learning relevant, exciting and necessary for a broad and balanced learning profile.
About the Speaker:
Head of Language Faculty Christ College Brecon
Liz McLean has been a teacher of Languages for almost 20 years and is currently Head of Languages at Christ College Brecon. She sees language learning as a vital skill in any pupil profile and aims to share her passion for languages with the pupils that she teaches. Liz has experience in both maintained and independent sectors of education and has taught all abilities and all age ranges within the secondary school framework.
Liz currently works with a team of 6 languages teachers who push hard to ensure that language learning at Christ College is rewarding and enjoyable. Pupils at the school enjoy excellent results at A Level and GCSE and 100% of pupils who have studied languages at the school over the last 3 years have gone on to study languages at University. With the solid help of her team, Liz is able to make languages count amongst her pupils. She knows that a firm skill base will lead to success in the languages classroom.
Pupils love learning in an environment which is positive and stimulating and Liz’s aim is to develop an all-round learner who loves languages.
